Reduces fire damage by 8% per level per armor piece, and reduces the duration of the on-fire status effect. As of Java 1.21, the burn-time reduction now stacks across multiple armor pieces wearing the same enchantment.

Best uses
Most valuable in the Nether where fire and lava are constant threats. Stacking Fire Protection IV across all four armor slots provides significant fire damage reduction and dramatically cuts the time you remain on fire.
How to get Fire Protection
Enchanting table (primary item on all armor), librarian villager trades (enchanted books), fishing, and structure loot. Combine books via anvil to reach level IV.
