How to Make a Potion of Swiftness
The most common utility potion for exploration and travel. Sugar is obtained from Sugar Cane. Extended Swiftness (8:00) is widely used for long overworld journeys. Negated by a Fermented Spider Eye into Slowness.
Effect
Increases movement speed by 20% (Swiftness I) or 40% (Swiftness II). Also increases field of view.

Upgrades
Redstone → extended to 8:00. Glowstone → Swiftness II (40% speed boost) lasting 1:30. Cannot combine both.
Brewing steps
- Fill a glass bottle from water.
- Brew with Nether Wart → Awkward Potion.
- Brew with Sugar → Potion of Swiftness. Optional: Redstone Dust for 8:00 or Glowstone Dust for Swiftness II (1:30). Add Gunpowder for Splash; Dragon's Breath to Splash for Lingering.
