How to Play Tic-Tac-Toe
- Players take turns placing X and O on a 3×3 grid.
- The first to get three of their marks in a row — horizontally, vertically or diagonally — wins.
- If all nine squares fill with no line, the game is a draw.
- Choose AI difficulty or pass-and-play with a friend on the same device.
Tips & Strategy
- Take the centre when you can — it joins four possible lines.
- Corners beat edges: they each join three lines, edges only two.
- Create a 'fork' (two threats at once) and your opponent can only block one.
Tic-Tac-Toe — Frequently Asked Questions
Can the hard AI be beaten?
No — on hard the computer plays perfectly with the minimax algorithm, so the best you can achieve is a draw. Every draw against it is a small win.
Who moves first?
X always opens. The first player alternates between rounds so a match stays fair.
Can two people play on one device?
Yes, switch to the two-player mode and take turns on the same screen.
