Skeletons are ranged undead archers that are among the most common hostile mobs. They are accurate shooters and will circle players to maintain optimal firing distance. They are particularly dangerous in open areas where players cannot close the gap.

Light level 0 in most Overworld biomes; dungeons and spawners; not in deserts or snowy biomes where variants replace them
Behavior
Keeps distance from players and fires arrows at them. Strafe-moves to maintain range. Burns in sunlight unless wearing a helmet. Flees from wolves. Will pick up weapons it finds on the ground.
