Blazes are flaming, floating Nether mobs found exclusively in Nether Fortresses. They are a critical mob for progression, as blaze rods are required to craft Eyes of Ender and brew potions. They are immune to fire and lava but are vulnerable to snowballs and water.

Nether Fortresses; near blaze spawners at light level 11 or lower; spawns in groups of 2–3
Behavior
Floats in the air and fires volleys of three fireballs at players from range; also deals melee damage (4–9 HP depending on difficulty) if a player comes too close. Hovers and rotates its rod-rings while charging attacks. Takes damage from water and snowballs.

0–1 Blaze Rod (50% chance when killed by player or tamed wolf; +1 per Looting level, max 4), 10 XP
